We began in 1998 as Monika Bishop's TaeKwonDo Plus in Midland, GA, a school focused on teaching martial arts and its core values to students young and old. Our Founder, Senior Master Monika Bishop began the school and led it through many great years! She had the honor of teaching and training thousands of students for over 20 years!

In 2006, she would take on a new student who would continue to pass on her teachings! Master Daniel L. Bellware, our current Owner & Chief Instructor studied under Sr. Master Bishop’s tutelage for over 15 years before stepping into the new role of leading the academy!

In 2023 we would change our name from Monika Bishop’s TaeKwonDo Plus to Momentum TaeKwonDo Plus! Our mission would also pivot with this change to developing the whole student, physically, intellectual, emotionally, and socially.

Our team is committed to seeing our students achieve their goals, increase their confidence,

and make a difference in their lives!

Momentum is more than a martial arts school or an after school program, it is a development program to help its members achieve goals. Using martial arts as a vehicle we help teach life lessons, build confidence, build friendships, Instill discipline, and guide you to your goals. Momentum is defined as the impetus gained by a moving object. At our programs, you are the moving object, and we will propel you in your life to help you achieve what you want to.

We Are a Licensed Skillz Child Development Center!

Skillz is an internationally recognized program that uses martial arts as a vehicle to develop the whole child by targeting their physical, intellectual, emotional, and social stages of development. We develop the whole-child and teach with their brain in mind! Our instructors use evidence-based practices to help you or your child become the best versions of themselves!

My son started classes here in 2011 when he was little. He loved it and learned a lot about focus and respect. He started back in 2020. We were happy to see many of the same team members. As a teenager we have seen his self confidence grow. Students are also taught mental skills and are encouraged to carry these skills outside of the TKD classroom.

We have only been to our evaluation so far but my kid is very excited. Coach Rosalyn has been great with communication and Addison (I hope I got his name right) was amazing. My daughter recently started here and we love it!!! It has helped already with her focusing and listening. A great time for her to also socialize with friends. The staff is very attentive and open for comments and suggestions. We have already signed up for summer camp. Looking forward to more fun and learning with that experience.

Bishop's TaeKwonDo Plus is an amazing facility with awesome coaches and instructors. My child has been going for a month and absolutely loves it. It teaches structure, discipline, different techniques, and much more. I couldn't ask for anything better for my child. My child is Autistic and the classes have helped so much. I love the atmosphere if this place..Mrs Bishop is the best instructor, she doesn't give the students belts she makes sure they are trained properly to earn them....She's super nice, my son attended her classes in W.R and is with her at this location...Love this place!!

Started with this very organization back in 1986. Did not matter what school I attended, or in what state I was in. The instructors as well as my fellow students were as professional, friendly, and as helpful as could be. The lessons are well taught and very organized also. Now that we're here in 2021. I received the same treatment when I attended school here as I did when I started back in 1986. Awesome organization with a Great environment.
